Protein Fluidics Inc has appointed Labtech International Ltd as the exclusive distributor in the UK and Ireland for their novel biological assay automation platform. Developed to accelerate data driven decisions the Puma-System automates assays for 3D cell models, organoids, or spheroids for applications such as oncology, neuroscience, drug discovery, and metabolic disease research, enabling scientists to create the next generation of diagnostics and therapeutics and in the laboratory.

Spotlight on Pu•MA System
Labtech is synonymous with physiologically relevant cell culture and once again we are launching a novel technology for scientists working with spheroids, organoids or tumoroids. The bottle neck for High Content Screening capabilities is often core facilities, due to the slow progress of spheroid based assay throughput in parallel experiments, often using manual pipetting. The Pu•MA System removes this bottle neck, enabling the assaying of multiple spheroids, in parallel experiments, using an automated platform subjecting the spheroid to multiple test conditions, making the supernatants available for downstream analysis and critically, readily presenting the spheroids to the laboratory’s imaging platforms. The patented Flowchip is on a thin glass slide with a protection chamber for those valuable spheroids and some very sophisticated microfluidics to perform all of the reagent movement – in very small volumes.
The Pu-MA System will ramp up sample processing and accelerate data acquisition, helping to deliver effective therapeutics faster to market. All this is also done most cost effectively.
