Fluorescence based bacterial automated bacterial counter

The Logos Biosystems Quantom Tx allows users to directly count bacterial samples without the need for culturing

Direct Counting
Image based analysis provides direct counting without the need for overnight culturing. Results in minutes not days

Sophisticated counting algorithms provide single cell detection regardless of morphology or clumping. Count bacterials strains that are not culturable in lab conditions

Remove user to user variation. Multiple fields of view analysed. No need for estimation based on turbidity or colony forming units

Easy to Use
Easy to follow protocol and autofocus. Large capacitive touchscreen interface with intuitive software

Total or Viable Counts
Fluorescence stains provide either total count or viable count information

Flexible Data Handling
SSD for fast internal saving of data. Export count, image or report data for offline viewing or sharing via USB drive or WIFI

Instrument Control – 10 inch capacitive colour touchscreen (1280 x 800 pixels)

Cell Size Range – 0.3-50 µM

Cell Concentration Range  – 2 x 10^5 – 1 x 10^9 cells per ml (1 x 10^6 – 5 x 10^8 cells per ml Optimal)

Counting Time – ~ 30 seconds (for 10 images)

Dimensions (W × D × H) – 43.3 × 31 × 22.5 cm (17.0 × 12.2 × 8.8 in.) QUANTOM, 21 x 21 x 22 cm (8.3 x 8.3 x 8.7 in.) QUANTOM Centrifuge

Weight – 10.8 kg (23.9 lbs.) QUANTOM, 5.64 kg (12.4 lbs) QUANTOM Centrifuge

  • Fast
  • No need to culture
  • Flexible
  • Count a wide range of bacterial species
  • Easy to Use
  • No special training required
  • Accurate
  • Data you can trust

  • QUANTOM Total staining dye permeates both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria
  • QUANTOM Viable staining dye efficiently labels only viable cells

Loading and Immobilisation

  • Stained cells are mixed with the included loading dye
  • Samples are then loaded into the QUANTOM slides using a pipette
  • Up to 8 slides at a time can then be spun in the QUANTOM Centrifuge to uniformly distribute cells across the slide

  • The QUANTOM TX captures multiple fields of view from the slide
  • Sophisticated counting and declustering algorithms enable single bacterium detection in a range of morphologies and clump formations

Data Handling

  • Solid state drive for fast data saving
  • Export data via USB flash drive, Wifi or optional thermal printer
