EM-Tec gripping SEM stub and SEM stub-based vice holders

EM-Tec gripping stub and stub based vice holders are useful for gripping and holding SEM specimens without much need for specimen preparation. Ideal for cross-section and edge-on imaging. Our comprehensive range of gripping and vice-type holders is compatible with SEMs using pin stubs (ThermoFisher Scientific/FEI, Zeiss, Tescan, Phenom SEMs using an M4 thread (Hitachi and EM-Tec SEM stage adaptors) and JEOL SEMs.

EM-Tec SEM pin stubs compatible gripping stub and stub based vice holders:

  • EM-Tec GS24 gripping stub holder with clamping plate to hold SEM specimens or tissue up to 4mm thick.  Specimen is held by the clamping plate which is pushed with set screws. Also useful for holding tissue for dehydration and critical point dryer processing.  Holder size is 24 x 13 x 12mm; fits in any SEM using standard 3.2mm pin stubs. Ref: McTurk, G., Bulman, S., Ocklefors, C.C. Journal of microscopy 127,233. 1982.
  • EM-Tec PS4 mini SEM pin stub vice clamp for specimen thickness from 0-4mm. The specimen is held vertically with a  set of small screws. Most effective way of studying cross sections of thin specimens. Holder size without pin is Ø12.7 x 7.2mm.
  • EM-Tec PS44 quadruple SEM pin stub vice clamp for four specimens with 0-4mm thickness. The specimens are held vertically with four small screws.  Most effective way of observing cross sections or thin specimens. Holder size w/o pin is Ø25.4 x 7.2mm. Standard pin.
  • EM-Tec PV5 mini SEM specimen vice clamp for specimen thickness from 0-5mm. The specimen is held vertically between  vice jaws. The vice jaws are tightened by a brass thumb screw. Holder size without pin is Ø12.2 x 17mm
  • EM-Tec PS6 mini SEM pin stub split vice clamp for specimen thickness from 0-6mm. The specimen is clamped between the two mini vice clamps. The split vice jaws are closed with an allen screw. Closed split vice diameter is 12.7mm; when opened it is 19 x 12.7mm.
  • EM-Tec PS9 mini split mount vice clamp for SEM specimen thickness from 0-8mm. The SEM specimen is clamped between the two vice jaws of the split mount. The split mount vice jaws are closed by two allen screws. Closed split mount vice dimensions are Ø15 x 10mm; when opened 23 x 15 x 10mm.
  • EM-Tec PS7 mini SEM pin stub dual slot vice with two slots of 1 mm wide. Ideal for holding thin wafer pieces and specimens for cross section imaging. Specimens are clamped by set screws. Holder size without pin is Ø15 x 6mm.
  • EM-Tec PS12 SEM pin stub vice clamp for specimen thickness from 0-12mm. The SEM specimen is held vertically with a set screw. The most effective way to study cross sections of thin specimens. Holder size without pin is Ø25 x 7.2mm.
  • EM-Tec PS23 SEM pin stub dual slot vice with two slots of 2.5 mm wide. Ideal for holding thin wafer pieces and specimens for cross section imaging. Specimens are clamped by set screws. Holder size without pin is Ø25 x 7.2mm.
  • EM-Tec PS27 SEM pin stub dual slot vice with two slots of 7 mm wide. Ideal for holding thin SEM specimens for cross section imaging. Specimens are clamped by set screws. Holder size without pin is Ø25 x 7.2mm.

EM-Tec gripping SEM stub and SEMstub-based vice holders with M4 thread:

  • EM-Tec GS24 gripping stub holder with clamping plate to hold SEM specimens or tissue up to 4mm thick.  Specimen is held with a clamping plate which is pushed with set screws.   • EM-Tec HV5 mini SEM specimen vice clamp for specimen thickness from 0-5mm. The SEM specimen is held vertically between  vice jaws. The vice jaws are tightened by a brass thumb screw. Holder size is Ø12.2 x 17mm x M4.
  • EM-Tec HS6 mini M4 cylinder SEM stub vice clamp for specimen thickness from 0-6mm. The SEM specimen is held vertically with a small set screw.  A simple and cost-effective way to clamp cross sections of thin specimens. Holder stub size is Ø15x10mm xM4.
  • EM-Tec HS9 mini split mount vice clamp for SEM specimen thicknesses from 0-8mm. The SEM specimen is clamped between the two vice jaws of the split mount. The split mount vice jaws are closed by two Allen screws. Closed split mount vice dimensions are Ø15 x 10mm; when open 23 x 15 x 10mm. M4 threaded hole in the base.
  • EM-Tec HS15 M4 cylinder SEM stub vice clamp for specimen thicknesses from 0-16mm. The specimen is held vertically with a set screw (multiple lengths are supplied). A cost effective and practical small vice clamp base on an SEM stub size of Ø25 x 10mm x M4.
  • EM-Tec HS7 mini SEM pin stub dual slot vice with two slots of 1 mm wide. Ideal for holding thin wafer-like SEM specimens for cross section imaging. Specimen are clamped by set screws. Holder size is Ø15 x 6mm x M4.

EM-Tec JEOL SEM stub based vice holders:

  • EM-Tec  JS4 mini cylinder SEMstub vice clamp for SEM specimen thickness from 0-4mm. The specimen is held vertically with a small set screw.  The most effective way to study cross section of thin specimens. Holder stub size is Ø12.2 x 10mm.
  • EM-Tec JV5 mini SEM specimen vice clamp for specimen thicknesses from 0-5mm. The SEM specimen is held vertically between vice jaws, which are tightened by a brass thumb screw. Compatible with holders for the Ø12.2 x 10mm JEOL SEM stub with a height of 17mm above the stub.
  • EM-Tec JS12 cylinder SEM stub vice clamp for specimen thicknesses from 0-12mm. The SEM specimen is held vertically with a set screw (multiple lengths are supplied). The most effective and practical small vice clamp based on a stub size of Ø25 x 10mm.
