Mylar tape

Single-sided green PET tape consists of a polyester (Mylar) film with a silicone adhesive. Especially suited for:

  • Masking for vacuum deposition
  • Masking for powder coating and anodising
  • Holding specimens or parts in high vacuum
  • Positioning tape
  • As a transfer tape or for temporary applications
  • Temporary sealing tape
  • General laboratory use

Also known as anodising or powder coating masking tape, green PET laboratory tape is an economical alternative for Kapton tape in less demanding applications and when temperatures are lower than 200°C. It has low outgassing under vacuum. The tape is self-wound without a liner and is available in widths from 6mm to 50mm with a length of 20m. Mounted on a clean 76mm diameter plastic core.

PET tape has low adhesive transfer and if used as temporary tape or transfer tape, only minimal pressure is needed. With a thicker film and lower adhesion properties this silicone-based adhesive tape is easy to remove and leaves clean surfaces.
